The Principals

Johan Hough [BSc.Eng. BSc Hon BChD 1985] fulfilled a dream when he and his daughter Helen Loubser [BChD 1998] became partners in Orpington Dental Care. Johan has been associated with the practice for 11 years now and Helen 4 years. Both Johan and Helen qualified in South Africa. Johan and his wife Bettie left South Africa about 13 years ago and are now British citizens. Their three adult daughters and their families all followed and are all enjoying the life here. Johan obtained his first 2 degrees in engineering many years ago but only truly found his vocation when he returned to University to become a dentist. Johan is a family man who cares greatly about people and his biggest asset as a dentist is that he combines caring with the perfectionism of an engineer to deliver only the best service.

Helen Loubser [BChD 1998] was from the beginning interested to follow in her father's footsteps and has developed into a very competent dentist. Her photo is on the left on all our pages. She is young and ambitious and has just completed two years postgraduate training in the prestigious Eastman's Dental School in Cosmetic Dentistry. She is at this stage delivering a rather unique service with the brand new revolutionary technology of "Lumineers" where she can make your smile more beautiful without removing painful tooth structure. The Associate

Ame Erwee [BChD 1991]  Ame has been associated with Orpington Dental Care for the past ten years and is a very valuable member of the team. She believes that only the best is good enough and delivers an excellent service to all her patients. She is very interested in cosmetic  

 The Staff

Carol Matthews is Senior Dental Nurse and has been with the practice as Johan's nurse for the past seven years. Carol is caring and friendly and is the person everyone shares his or her problems with. She supervises the other two young and vivacious Dental Nurses, Betsey Devel and Jenna Hoffman.

Mandy and Dawn are our very competent and friendly receptionists. The practice operates like a family where staff cares for each other and their patients.

           The Hygienist and other Specialists

Andre von Backstrom  [MBChB] and Adrian Kemp [BChD] deliver specialist services at the practice. Andre is the friendly Anaesthetist at the Sedation clinic and also provides a service to Remove Wrinkles without Surgery. [Botox] Adrian is a highly experienced and competent Oral Surgeon and is responsible for more complicated Surgery and Implants. 

Christelle Snyman, the Hygienist, is a friendly bubbly personality. Don't be fooled though, she is a real professional and delivers an excellent service.

Bettie Hough [BA Psych, MDP, Dip Couns., DC Hyp.] is a qualified and experienced Counsellor and Hypnotherapist and is available to help phobic patients who need more extensive treatment.
